First I must say Christopher Nolan is a great visionary Director of our time.  "The Dark Knight" is pure adrenaline. Repeat viewings might also be a necessary. That adrenaline rush comes at a cost multiple viewings are required. Because this movie isn’t about some super hero punishing stupid greedy criminals.  Actually it’s right opposite of it. There is a two heroes dark and white knight. Dark one is a bat inspired man whom has lost his parents (killed by typical mob) in his childhood .
He has good hi-techs and best fighting skills but in the reality every hero is a man whom has strong will and brave heart. And this time he’s opponent is a psycho-maniac ‘Joker’ who just wants to “Watch the world burning”.  Other one is a Harvey Dent(District Attorney) he is a Hero that knows everyone.
I would say that the best actor in this movie is Heath Ledger (Joker). But sadly he died in January: Ledger is so horrifically attractive you can't take your eyes off of him.
“Batman” isn’t a comic book anymore. Christopher Nolan’s “The Dark Knight” is a haunted film that leaps beyond its origins and becomes an extra-ordinary tragedy. It creates characters we come to care about. That’s because of the performances, because of the direction, because of the writing, and because of the superlative technical quality of the entire production.
“The Dark Knight” is not a simplistic tale of good and evil. Batman is good, yes; The Joker is evil, yes. But Batman has a more complex puzzle than usual: The citizens of Gotham City are in an madness, calling him a vigilante and blaming him for the deaths of policemen and others. And the Joker is more than a villain. He’s a psycho-maniac whose actions are designed to wipe out his enemies and everyone except himself.
The main performance in the movie is by the late Heath Ledger, as the Joker. Will he become the first posthumous Oscar winner? His clown's makeup more freak than before, his cold laugh covering his deep wounds, he seeks revenge, he claims, for the horrible punishment his father did on him when he was a child. In one devilish scene near the end of the film, he sets two ferry of passengers to blow up if they wouldn’t blown up each other. During the film, he plans genius situations that force Batman (Christian Bale), Commissioner Gordon (Gary Oldman) and District Attorney Harvey Dent (Aaron Eckhart) to make impossible right decisions. By the end, the whole foundation of the Batman legend is threatened.
Nolan also directed the previous, and excellent, “Batman Begins” (2005), which went into greater detail than ever before about Bruce Wayne’s origins and the reasons for his heroism. Now it is the Joker’s turn, although his past is handled entirely with dialogue. There are no relative to Batman’s childhood, but we remember it, and we realize that this conflict is between two adults who were suffered by childhood cruelty. One is trying to do well, the other by trying to do evil. Perhaps they understand that themselves by their hidden instincts.
One of many reasons that pulled ‘Dark knight’ to a success is a word that echoes in this movie repeatedly.
1. “Why so serious” – it’s joker’s word that he says it often when he’s talking about his scars or before he kills people.
2. “You complete me” – tells me that joker is a batman’s complete dark side.
3. “To them, you’re just a freak like me” – Nolan wants to express that “we all have dark side inside of us” it comes out when we are in fear and our lives are in danger. People shouts save us and calls heroes and after they saved,  they forgets their savior.
4. “You either die a hero…. Or you live long enough to see yourself become a villain” – I thought: This sentence is tells me the main idea of this movie.
